What do you get when you mix Halloween, Krakow, Oma, Christmas and some shenanigans? The months of October through December! Enjoy!

July - September 2012
Our summer was filled with enjoying all the fun festivals that Dresden had to offer! We ended it all off with a trip to Hamburg and the Baltic Sea.
April - June 2012
In April, Sabine started daycare part-time and is thoroughly enjoying it. We also made two trips - one quick one to Budapest for Dave's Birthday and another with all of the Richmond clan to Italy (one week in Tuscany and another in the Cinque Terra).

January-March 2012
In the interest of keeping it simple - we've decided to post photo albums on a quarterly basis. Below is a few shots from the beginning of 2012 which include Sabine's 1st birthday, visits to various museums and sites around Dresden, our first experience with snow in Germany and a trip to Berlin. Enjoy!
December
You really haven't experienced the Holiday Season until you've been to Germany in December. The Germans are basically the inventors of all of our Holiday traditions (that, and all of our fairytales). From mistletoe, to Christmas trees, to gingerbread houses - these people have got it down!
During the month of December, we took it pretty easy - strolling through Christmas Markets (Dresden has one of the oldest and most famous markets in Germany), eating tons of German treats and then heading to a little cabin in Swiss Saxony to relax before ringing in the New Year.

November
Thanks to a little global warming, our first November in North-East Germany was quite lovely. It was made even better with a visit from Nana Richmond!

October! Fall is here (and it's darn cold in Germany)!
In October, we managed to sneak in a few more trips before the snow arrives. First we took a quick hiking trip in Swiss Saxony, then we made an impromptu weekend trip to Prague (only 2 hours from Dresden) and enjoyed wandering the streets of the old town while sipping mulled wine. Finally we took a big trip down to Strasbourg, France for 5 days (Dave had a meeting to attend) where Sabine scared us with her first trip to the ER with a bad case of croup. She quickly bounced back and we were able to fit in a bit of sightseeing before heading home...
