In October, we managed to sneak in a few more trips before the snow arrives. First we took a quick hiking trip in Swiss Saxony, then we made an impromptu weekend trip to Prague (only 2 hours from Dresden) and enjoyed wandering the streets of the old town while sipping mulled wine. Finally we took a big trip down to Strasbourg, France for 5 days (Dave had a meeting to attend) where Sabine scared us with her first trip to the ER with a bad case of croup. She quickly bounced back and we were able to fit in a bit of sightseeing before heading home...

September... (a bit late)
What didn't happen in September?! We had a special visit from Grandma Bishop, Ginny turned 30, we traveled to Vienna and we welcomed two new members into the family! Congratulations to Mike & Jess and their new beautiful daughter Cassia, and to Stephen & Jen (and big brother Dublin) and their handsome fella Oliver - can't wait to see you all in Italy next spring!
August... (long overdue)
August was a busy month of moving into our new home and filling it with our stuff (some new, some imported). It was really nice to finally unpack, as we'd been living out of suitcases since the end of May...

The last 6 months set to music...
Here's a few clips of Sabine over the first half-year of her life...

The rest of July...
We've now been in Dresden for over a month - time certainly flies! We've found an apartment that we love (we move in mid-August) and have been slowly setting up all of our accounts and what-not. Dave has been hard at work on his fellowship applications, and Gin & Sabine have been hard at work attending lots of playgroups. Sabine has had a big month of development - she's now eating solids like a pro, drinking from a sippy cup, squealing at deafening pitches, sitting all by herself and rolling everywhere! We credit the German tap water.

Our first week in Dresden...
6 weeks after leaving California, we've finally made it to Dresden, Germany! Our first week was pretty busy with finding a place to live (pictures to follow!), Dave getting acquainted with his new lab, and lots of sightseeing...
A trip to T.O.
From the west coast we headed to Toronto to see Gin's side of the family. We spent a few days in the big city, then headed up to Blue Mountain for some R&R by the pool. Then Uncle Jay & Aunt Rena and their gang threw us a big farewell bash to send us on our way!
